Tapped for Summer: Peekskill Brewery’s Simple Sour Berliner Style Weisse

Posted by: admin | Comments Off

One of the three new beers we just put up to get ready for summer, Peekskill Brewery’s Simple Sour Berliner Style Weisse, is something pretty special. It’s brewed with wheat, corn, and brettanomyces (a wild yeast), resulting in a slightly acidic, crisp, dry beer that’s reminiscent of lemonade. Very drinkable and highly refreshing – perfect for the warmer temperatures coming our way.

Peekskill Brewery is a former brewpub that has grown into a small-scale brewery with an on-premise restaurant and tasting room. You can get there in about 50 minutes, via train ride up the Hudson on the Hudson River Line toward Poughkeepsie. The dedicated team behind it all includes brewmaster Jeff O’Neil. They’re quickly becoming known for making some amazing beer, right here in New York…and now available for your tasting pleasure at the Brickyard.

Brickyard Welcomes Fans of the Dropkick Murphys

Posted by: admin | Comments Off

The Dropkick Murphys return to Terminal 5 for two shows, tonight and tomorrow, March 12 and 13. As this preview reports, the tour supports the band’s newest album,”Signed and Sealed in Blood.” Self-described as “a rocking & rolling, raging, green-clover machine,” the band has become world famous for its live shows, particularly those held in the week before St. Patrick’s Day.

Now that you have your tickets, your next question must be, “where can I get a great pint of Guinness near Terminal 5?” The only answer to that question is “at Brickyard Gastropub;” we’re just a ten-minute walk from Terminal 5, at 785 Ninth Avenue, just north of 52nd St.

We’re owned by two natives of Ireland, who take their beer, and particularly their Guinness, seriously. A look at our list of 24 craft beers on tap proves how serious we are about our beer. The exceptional reviews of Brickyard Gastropub on Open Table and the solid comments provide third-party proof that Brickyard Gastropub is one of the best Irish bars near Terminal 5. We also have an outstanding dinner menu and a terrific bar menu, making us also one of the best restaurants near Terminal 5.

Those of you from Brooklyn or Queens should be sure to visit our sister bars: Kent Ale House, in North Williamsburg, is the best beer bar in Brooklyn, and Courtyard Ale House, in Sunnyside, is the best beer bar in Queens.
