2012 Tony Awards Party

Wednesday, May 23rd, 2012

In our two years in business, we’ve developed a close, mutually beneficial relationship with New York City’s theater community. We keep our kitchen open till 2 a.m. to feed the many professionals in the community who work till midnight. In turn, theater goers fill our seats for the best pre-theater meals in the Theater District, and the professional community is a big presence in our establishment on Monday nights, often their only night off.

When you tight with a group, you want to help celebrate their successes.

On Sunday night, June 1o, at 8:00 pm NYC time is the 2012 Tony Awards, the 66th annual celebration of great achievements in theater, once again hosted by Neil Patrick Harris.

If our customers are celebrating, then so are we! We’ll be hosting our Second Annual Tony Awards Viewing Party, starting at 7:o0 pm.  Last year’s party was a great success; one patron, from the Lower East Side, told us, “I NEVER come uptown. I am so glad I came for this.”

We’ll be offering our usual dinner menu and bar menu, $5 specialty cocktails, Tony trivia contests, and Tony-themed food specials:

Venus in Bacon
Grilled asparagus wrapped in bacon and drizzled in balsamic reduction
Leap of Foul
Buttermilk fried chicken strips with apple-fenel slaw
One Man, Three Skewers
Sirloin steak with au poivre dipping sauce
Salmon with wasabi-soy dipping sauce
Chicken with chipotle-BBQ dipping sauce

We expect a large crowd, so call us at 212-767-0077 to reserve your table today.

Also make sure to attend our “Show Tunes Karaoke” on Monday nights!

Watch the Preakness at Brickyard

Saturday, May 19th, 2012

On Saturday, May 19, Kentucky Derby winner I’ll Have Another will try to win yet again in the Preakness Stakes, the second leg of the Triple Crown. In his way stands a full field of 11 horses, including:

  • Bodemeister, who ran 2nd in the Derby after setting a hot pace,
  • Went the Day Well, a fast closing fourth in the Derby after a troubled trip, and
  • Creative Cause, who lost a close one to I’ll Have Another in the Santa Anita Derby and ran fifth in the Kentucky Derby, and may be ready to produce a top effort that could put him in the picture at nice odds.

It can be difficult to find NYC bars showing the Preakness Stakes. With nine giant screens, Brickyard is one of the very best bars in New York City to watch the Preakness. We will be serving $5 Black-eyed Susans all day. We’ll be serving our regular menu, including our bar menu.

A Big Fleet Week Welcome to our Sailors and Those Who Admire Them

Wednesday, May 16th, 2012

FleetWeek New York is an eagerly awaited annual NYC tradition. Thousands of sailors, marines and Coast Guardsmen visit NYC on dozens of navy and Coast Guard vessels and tall ships.

For many of these sailors, the week is an opportunity to show off their ships and work to adoring throngs. It’s also an opportunity to cut loose in NYC, a sailor tradition that goes back at least as far as when Frank Sinatra and Gene Kelly spent 24 hours in NYC in “On The Town.”

Many of the fabulous ships that visitors flock to are parked at the Intrepid Pier and Piers 90 and 92 on Manhattan’s West Side, in the high 40s or low 50s on 12th Avenue.

For visitors to these ships, it can be challenging to find a good meal or drink after a day of visiting the ships, as the area is a restaurant wasteland.

But there is some good news – Brickyard Gastropub, one of the best restaurants in midtown NYC, is just a 7-10 minute walk from each of these Piers. We have an outstanding menu for adults, a kids’ menu, the best craft beer in NYC, a full bar, and a great atmosphere in which everyone always has a good time. But don’t just take our word for it; read the stellar reviews of Brickyard Gastropub on Open Table.

So whether you’re a group of sailors enjoying your “On the Town” moment or a group of sailor admirers hungry, thirsty and eager to find a comfortable chair, visit Brickyard Gastropub during Fleet Week!
