USA Women’s Olympic Soccer 2012

Wednesday, July 25th, 2012

Last summer, the US Women’s Soccer World Cup  team won the hearts of all of America with its stirring run to the final match of the World Cup. Though it lost that match to Japan, it developed a fan base awed by the professionalism, athleticism and grace the members of the team exhibited along the way.

The team now turns to the 2012 London Olympic Games. It has largely the same roster it had in the 2011 World Cup, with just one new player (striker Sydney Leroux) added to a roster that includes Abby Wambach, Hope Solo and Alex Morgan.

The team will play three group games and then in the knockout stage.

Brickyard Gastropub will show all of the US Women’s Soccer team’s games.

In the Group Stage, the U.S. will square off against France, Colombia and North Korea, three teams it met in the World Cup.

The Americans handled Colombia and North Korea in the group stage, and scored two late goals to beat the French in the semi-final. The team opens with its toughest group game, France, on Wednesday at noon EDT. It plays Colombia on Saturday at 11:50 a.m and North Korea on Monday at 12:15 p.m.

The quarterfinals will be played on Friday, August 3rd, the semis will be played on Monday the 6th and the final will be played in Wembley Stadium on Thursday the 9th at 2:45 p.m. Visit NBCOlympics.com for the full schedule.

Many of the team’s new fans wonder where to watch US Women’s Olympic Soccer in NYC.

With nine giant screens and the best beer menu in NY, Brickyard Gastropub is one of the very best bars in New York City to watch Olympic Soccer.

We have an outstanding menu of food, including our new bar menu.

Roger Waters Builds The Wall at Yankee Stadium

Tuesday, July 3rd, 2012

Roger Waters brings the legendary “The Wall” tour to Yankee Stadium this Friday and Saturday, July 6 and 6. Get concert ticket information on the TicketMaster website.

The tour is a remake of the much-discussed 1979 tour in support of Pink Floyd’s ground-breaking album of the same name, which featured memorable songs such as Comfortably Numb, Another Brick in the Wall, Hey You and Run Like Hell.Roger Waters discusses on the tour website why he is reprising The Wall now, and what it means in 2012.

If you’ve been to Yankee Stadium, you know what to expect from the surrounding neighborhood: although the venue hosts amazing live acts, the nearby bars and restaurants are crowded and expensive. Meanwhile, the exorbitant price of food and drink inside Yankee Stadium means you can’t full satiate yourself there, either.

That’s why we encourage you to stop by the Brickyard before heading out to see Roger Waters at Yankee Stadium. In addition to our delicious, mostly organic dinner menu, we offer a bar menu until 2 a.m. and one of the best beer lists in NYC, Once you’ve enjoyed our crisp, refreshing craft beers, such as Ommegang, BluePoint and SixPoint, along with a satisfying dish like Chipotle Pulled Pork Sliders or Steak Frites (with white truffle oil and shaved parmesan-tossed shoestring potatoes, and an au poivre dipping sauce), you’ll be ready to head to Yankee Stadium for the Roger Waters concert.

To get to Yankee Stadium from the Brickyard, walk 10 minutes to the B or D train at 59th St., or walk 5 minutes to the C train at 50th and 8th and transfer to the B or D at 59th St. or at 145th St.

Drinks after Macy’s Fireworks

Tuesday, July 3rd, 2012

On Wednesday, July 4, we’ll host a celebration of the Macy’s Fireworks 2012 from 4:00pm to 4:00 am. We’ll be serving our bar menu to those who want to enjoy a late lunch before the show, and the bar and dinner menu all night long.

We’re the best bar in Hell’s Kitchen, and quite near the main viewing areas for the Macy’s NYC Fireworks, which are a mere three avenues away.

Here, at the northern end of the viewing area, you’ll find smaller crowds.

We’ll be serving our regular menu, including our new bar menu. Of course, we encourage you to wear patriotic gear!

We expect a good crowd, so call us today at 212-767-0077 or email us at info@brickyardnyc.com to reserve your table, and come early.
